Willowgrove inspires kids and families to get outdoors, learn, and grow together. Established in 1968, it has grown into a vibrant day camp and education centre. No pets allowed, service animals are permitted.

Since 1867, the Wilton Cheese Factory has been a hub of cheese production. In 1921, a farmers’ co-operative took over, ramping up production to 226,800 kilograms (500,000 pounds) annually. In 1978, Arne M. Jensen purchased the factory, where they still continue the old-world curing process. This charming 19th-century opens into the Ruth Upjohn Gallery and the Dignam Art Gallery, named after the founder and first president, Mary Ella Dignam, who was a pioneer in Canada’s arts and crafts movement. The gallery spaces and formal sunken garden are great for exhibits and receptions, parties and weddings. There is also a formal library and many studios.

This remarkable example of contemporary architecture is home to the Fung Loy Kok Institute of Taoism, which promotes inner spiritual development through the practice of tai chi. The temple serves as a modern sacred space for a vibrant Taoist community and was awarded the Governor General’s Medal for Architecture in 2016.

The Woodland Cultural Centre was established in 1972 by the Association of Iroquois and Allied Indians on the closure of the Mohawk Institute Residential School. Their focus began with research and artifacts, expanding to include art in 1975 and a language program in 1984. With over 50,000 artifacts, it is one of the largest Canadian facilities managed by First Nations.

The Woodstock Art Gallery (WAG) celebrates artwork from local, regional and national artists over two floors. The site’s location is the former John White Company (1901-54) and Walkers of Woodstock (1964). This year, WAG is celebrating its 60th anniversary. Come and explore the Old Town Hall, constructed in 1853 as Woodstock’s first public market, council chamber and concert hall. This library ignites curiosity and connects our community to a world of ideas, resources and enriching experiences. It has a rich history. In 1905, the Carnegie Foundation awarded the City of Woodstock a grant for the construction of a library. In 1909, this beautiful building officially opened. Come and explore the space that continues to grow with the community.

In 1903, Woodville's original 1857 Town Hall needed a replacement, and money was raised for a new structure on King Street, which included a large performance space as well as space for village council meetings and administration. Now a rental venue and community hall, it has been lovingly restored by local residents over the years, including its striking wooden interior.

The Workers Arts and Heritage Centre, housed in Hamilton's Custom House, was founded in 1995 by a group of labour historians, artists, union and community activists who saw a need for a community museum that could celebrate the history of workers and labour. Since its founding, they have expanded their vision of work to be as inclusive as possible.

This creative cultural hub is a prominent neighbourhood feature, its tenants representing a dynamic mix of artistic practices, community services and cultural interests. Xpace Cultural Centre is a Toronto-based, artist-run contemporary art gallery that features a street-level exhibition in its Window Space. The Main Space and Project Space host additional exhibitions inside. Dedicated to supporting emerging artists, writers, designers and curators, Xpace presents exhibitions and public programming that invite experimentation and dialogue, offering an introduction to contemporary art in an accessible, street-level space.

Since 2007, YM Art Gallery has supported artists and art lovers in Richmond Hill, representing over 200 local and international artists. Year-round exhibitions feature works by artists such as John Kokinos, Christos Damianos, Lei Chang, Wanning Liao, and Charlie Cheng, with expert consultation and custom framing services.

At YMCA Camp Ki-Wa-Y, adventure starts here for all ages. For more than 100 years, Camp Ki-Wa-Y has inspired connection, confidence and outdoor exploration on the shores of Paradise Lake. During Doors Open, guests can explore indoor spaces, visit the waterfront and experience activities like archery and high ropes while discovering the magic of camp life.

The Owen Sound Daily Sun-Times began publication in 1922 and was printed at the Fleming Publishing Co. plant located here, more commonly known as The Sun Times Building. Now home to a number of local businesses, the YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce inhabits approximately 1114 square-metres (12,000 square-feet) of the completely renovated historic building in Downtown Owen Sound.

Located in the former Brown’s Corner and Buttonville Schoolhouse, this museum and archives preserves the history of public education in York Region. The collection highlights the evolution of education over time. Visitors can experience a recreated late-1800s classroom and try writing on a slate.

York University’s state-of-the-art Markham Campus fosters a collaborative academic environment through interconnected multi-storey spaces. It offers programs and research opportunities focused on technology and entrepreneurship within a dynamic urban setting.

Built in 1888 for industrial use by Gooderham and Worts, the Young Centre for the Performing Arts was adapted and reopened in 2006 as a performing arts facility with much of the original architecture still intact. The Young Centre was envisioned by George Brown College and Soulpepper Theatre Company as a home for Toronto's arts community and theatre lovers.

Youngplace is a community cultural hub in the West Queen West area whose spaces include artists’ studios, a public lounge, café and free public art galleries. Meet some of the tenants in their studios, participate in a material exchange, take a tour of the building and its creative spaces and see how this former schoolhouse has been restored and rejuvenated.

The Experience Centre provides an immersive experience that invites the public to explore the vision for YZD — a historical $30-billion transformation of the former Downsview Airport lands. The centre also provides visitors with an overview of this generational city-building opportunity, which includes seven new neighbourhoods. It looks to welcome more than 55,000 residents and create employment for 23,000 people.

Zone Athletics, home of Pegasus Cheer Athletics, was founded in 2014. Now in their 11th year, they operate in two sections of the building — with programming available for all ages, from newborns to adults. They offer recreational cheerleading, tumbling and parkour, day camps, birthday parties, pre-school classes, gym rentals and much more. They also offer Quinte’s only all-star cheerleading program.

One of Toronto’s only renewable-energy sites open for public tours, the ZooShare Biogas Plant generates enough renewable energy to power 250 homes and businesses. Each year, they use 15,000 tonnes of inedible food waste and 2,000 tonnes of manure from the Toronto Zoo to create biogas, which is converted into electricity.
