In 1849, Constant Van Egmond donated land for a church and burying ground. A small church was put up entirely by volunteer labour and materials. In 1862, there were 286 church members. The church closed in 1879 and a new brick church was built on the Kippen Road in Egmondville, now famillar to the name of the Egmondville United Church. 

This church was built in 1867 from the union of the congregations of Harpurhey and Seaforth, each of which were originally established under the United Secession Church of Scotland in 1904. The church Manse was built in 1879.

In 1945, 123 Main Street was sold to the Legion, and the hall was built in 1959. The opening day for the Legion was on June 2, 1961 and since that day, the Legion hall has provided a space for social activity in our community. 

The Seaforth and District Food Bank board is comprised of members from the different church denominations in the community. Volunteer staff prioritize confidentiality as well as recognize every human deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. With 2 years of service provided to the community, the Seaforth Food Bank has changed lives for the better and has made Seaforth a warm and caring town. 

Built in 1869 with adjacent Rectory constructed in 1897. The front addition to the Church was built in 1990. The St. James Roman Catholic Cemetery is located east of Seaforth at 43048 Huron Road. 

The original building was built in 1901, until it was demolished to make way for a new building in 1960. This new building had 5 Classrooms, an Office, Staff Room, and a General Purpose Room. The back addition to the school was added in 1993, consisted of a Kindergarten room, new Classrooms, Gymnasium and a new Staff Room.

Built in 1913, this is one of many libraries funded by Andrew Carnegie. It is in "Victorian Palladian Style". The library at one time had a tennis court on the side lawn, and its exterior walls were once entirely covered with ivy. In 1967, the Seaforth Library joined the Huron County Library which serves all municipalities in Huron County. 

Built in 1863, this frame and clapboarded-sided building with tower and spire is a fine example of Carpenter's Gothic architecture. In 1878, two wings were added to allow more seating for the congregation that had grown to 121 people. The Anglican Church was the first permanent place of worship built in Seaforth. 

Houghton's Hotel and stables, was located here in 1870. A shoe factory opened in 1906, then a clothing factory and eventually a furniture factory starting in the late 1930s. In 1999, the Bethel Bible Church, purchased the 24,000 square foot structure after the closure of the Canadian Tire store in the 1980s, renovating and opening a new place of worship. 

This is the largest building on Main Street and was erected in 1877 by Alexander Cardno. The upstairs was the site of Cardno's Music and Concert Hall, which was also a gathering place for community events. For years, the hall was the leading centre for the arts in Seaforth featuring
everything from minstrel shows to local entertainers.

Seaforth Town Hall, built in 1893-94, is a fine example of late 19th-century civic architecture. The style is a simple version of Romanesque Revival, commonly used for administration buildings. The building originally housed the fire hall on the main floor, town offices on the second floor, and an auditorium with a stage on the third. 

The Wesleyan Methodist congregation began in 1856 as a small group of people meeting for worship at the home of James Sparling. A lot was then purchased in Seaforth to build the first church on Goderich Street in 1865. In 1877, the congregation had grown which caused for a new building, now known as the North Side United Church. 

Located in the Cardno Block, Seaforth Jewellers belongs to the largest building on Main Street and was erected in 1877 by Alexander Cardno. The building was originally lit by gas that was manufactured on the premise. The upstairs was the site of Cardno's Music and Concert Hall, which was also a gathering place for community events. 

There has been a lawn bowling club in Seaforth since the late 1890s. The Main Street property north of the railway tracks was once railway land. The clubhouse was built in 1929.  On August 14, 1929 the opening tournament of the new greens was reported to be the largest and most successful ever held in Western Ontario. 

Seaforth Public School is a JK to Gr. 8 school located in the town of Seaforth, Ontario. Having a student population of 300 students, and a staff of 30 adults. Students come from the town of Seaforth as well as from the surrounding area, including Walton, Winthrop, Harpurhey and Egmondville. This school used to reside at 13 Church Street, where the Maplewood Manor is!

The Van Egmond House was built in 1847 by Constant Louis Van Egmond, who founded the village of Egmondville two years prior. The Van Egmond House Museum is owned and operated by the Van Egmond Foundation, which hostsa number of events on the property each year, including their popular Ciderfest.

Joignez-vous à une visite exclusive de la station guidée, qui sera guidée par le personnel d’antenne, découvrez l’exposition de photographies, imprégnez-vous de l’atmosphère de la station locale 560 CFOS, et participez au barbecue de bienfaisance organisé par le Club « Rotary » d’Owen Sound. La station CFOS, qui célèbre ses 85 ans d’existence, marquera un tournant historique en abandonnant la diffusion sur la bande AM pour migrer vers la bande FM.

Cette bibliothèque a été fondée en 1855 en tant qu’institut de mécanique. La structure néoclassique actuelle, achevée en 1914 grâce à une subvention de la Fondation Carnegie, comprend des pilastres de briques monumentaux à l’extérieur avec des bordures et des bases en calcaire sculpté, et un plafond voûté en berceau avec des éléments décoratifs en plâtre. Un ajout date de 1972. Le bâtiment a été désigné en 2009. Le plafond voûté de cette bibliothèque est un élément remarquable sur le plan architectural.

Cette église a été construite en 1889 pour les méthodistes du côté ouest. Les fidèles sont rapidement devenus trop nombreux pour cette petite chapelle et, en 1911, ils l’ont vendue et elle est devenue l’Église méthodiste épiscopale britannique (connue à l’origine sous le nom d’« église des gens de couleur »). Aujourd’hui, cette congrégation diversifiée continue de perpétuer l’héritage des familles noires originales qui se sont établies dans le comté de Grey.

Construite en 1967, l’ancienne Sydenham Community School a servi d’école élémentaire jusqu’en 2017. En 2018, le comté de Grey a fait l’acquisition du bâtiment de 4 200 mètres carrés (45 000 pieds carrés) et l’a converti en un centre régional baptisé campus de Sydenham (Sydenham Campus). Les partenaires et locataires constituent un ensemble de formateurs et d’entreprises qui appuient les travailleurs, les entrepreneurs et les organisations locales en leur offrant des possibilités de formation.

Conçu par l’assistant de l’artiste auquel on doit le Mémorial de Vimy, en France, le cénotaphe d’Owen Sound a été dédié le 1^er décembre 1920 à la mémoire des anciens combattants canadiens des Première et Deuxième Guerres mondiales et de la guerre de Corée, et rend hommage à tous les membres de l’armée jusqu’à aujourd’hui. Les cérémonies du jour du Souvenir et les services commémoratifs de la Légion se déroulent toujours sur ce site.

À l’origine une église, cette institution culturelle dynamique a pour mission d’offrir à la communauté des espaces accessibles et abordables pour partager, créer, éduquer et interpréter. Doté d’un auditorium de 700 places, d’une aire commune, d’une cuisine/salle de banquet et de nombreux petits lofts et studios, le centre Harmony est un exemple parfait de modernisation d’un actif communautaire existant pour l’adapter à l’époque et lui redonner de la valeur.

Le Marine Rail Heritage Centre, situé à l’intérieur du Community Waterfront Heritage Centre, a été créé en 1978 par un groupe de bénévoles passionnés afin de présenter l’histoire d’Owen Sound en tant que port prospère. Situé à l’intérieur de la gare ferroviaire historique, ce musée préserve l’histoire maritime, ferroviaire et industrielle de la région avec des artefacts, des maquettes, des photos d’archives, des stations interactives et des souvenirs du chemin de fer.
