Malahide Fire Department South

Malahide Station 5, also known as Malahide South, was established in 2019 through the amalgamation of Station 1 (Mount Salem) and Station 2 (Summers’ Corners). Designed to enhance operational efficiency and community service, the station serves as a hub for both emergency response and training. It houses offices for the Fire Chief, District Chief, and Fire Administrative Assistant, and also features a docking station for Elgin OPP officers. The facility includes a training room, kitchen, gym, changerooms, a training tower, and a vehicle bay that accommodates Pumper 5, Tanker 5, Rescue 5, and Squad 5. Staffed by a team of 25 firefighters, 6 captains, one District Deputy Chief, and one Deputy Chief, Station 5 plays a vital role in the region’s fire services. Beyond emergency response, it is a valued resource for training initiatives and frequently hosts programs such as those offered by the Elgin-Middlesex Regional Fire School.
