William Dixon House

William Dixon House was constructed in 1837 by one of six original families to settle in Smith Township. An early example of Georgian architecture, it is among the oldest and few remaining stone dwellings in Peterborough. Dixon used stone from his quarry and timber trimmed at his sawmill to construct his hilltop home, once encircled by an elegant two-storey veranda.
