Farmtown Park

Farmtown Park is an agricultural/rural museum with buildings that house collections and exhibits devoted to such themes as the dairy and apple industries, steam power and antique tractors. The Discovery Centre holds a fascinating toy collection. There’s even a replica 1930s-era heritage village that is typical of small-town Ontario — complete with 18 storefronts, a chapel, fire hall and one-room schoolhouse.

Lauzer House (formerly Dr. Farncomb's House)

This house was built in 1917 by Dr. Farncomb, who ran his practice from his home. In the 1950s, the house was turned into five apartments. The Degroot family purchased the home in 1968. Pierre and Candace Lauzer then purchased the home in 2007 and have since lovingly restored it and converted it into a bed and breakfast establishment.

Old Wooler SchoolhouseDoors Open Quinte West

Old Wooler Schoolhouse

Designated in 2024, this schoolhouse was built in 1915 in the Prairie style — a rare example of this architectural style in Ontario. It was designed by architect Francis Conroy Sullivan (1882-1929), the only Canadian student of Frank Lloyd Wright. The schoolhouse is currently being restored to be returned to community service by the non-profit Wooler & Area Community Organization.

Parks Canada Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site, Lock #1 — Trenton

Built in 1908-12, this lock marks the start of the Trent-Severn Waterway between Lake Ontario to Georgian Bay. Easily reached via Highway 401 and the Loyalist Parkway, it’s a popular stop for travellers. Staff will be on site to explain how the lock operates and provide tips on canal boating. There are also several interesting plaques on site.

This site opened in 1960 with Franck Lodge No. 127 (constituted in 1858) as the main tenant. Your guided tour includes the meeting room, with regalia and original items on display. There are four different charters from the Grand Lodge of Canada dating back to 1858. Guides will give an explanation on the history of Freemasonry worldwide, dating to 1717.

Trenton Town Hall was designated by the town council in 1983. This glorious building now houses various exhibits about local history — courtesy of the Trent Port Historical Society.
