Trenton Town Hall, constructed in the heart of Quinte West in 1861 by renowned architect Kivas Tully, was deemed a heritage building by the Trenton Town Council in 1983. Built in the classical revival style, this glorious building now houses various exhibits and cases filled with relics from the past – courtesy of the Trent Port Historical Society (including many photos of uniformed police officers, in honour of the site’s past life as a police station). A museum of cinema showcases old newspaper clippings, film posters and vintage cameras. There’s even a (now defunct) stage upstairs that was home to many community productions. This time capsule of local history is still popular today with filmmakers – including Sean Scally, whose video is shown below.
