Doors Open Ontario:

Barrie

in-person event information

Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Featuring 20 unique sites, Doors Open Barrie 2025 gives residents and visitors the opportunity to discover new and interesting places in their own backyards and to get a glimpse of what makes us such a special place to live, work and play. Sites include those that are artistic, heritage, unique and usually not open for visitors to go behind the scenes and learn.

For the first time, too, Doors Open Barrie will unite with Culture Days. This collaboration welcomes the unique opportunity to participate in free, hands-on arts activities in conjunction with Doors Open site tours, giving residents and visitors a chance to learn more about Barrie’s arts, culture, heritage and business communities.

Doors Open Barrie and Culture Days logos

The City of Barrie acknowledges its residence on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg people, which include the Odawa, Ojibwe and Pottawatomi Nations collectively known as the Three Fires Confederacy. We also acknowledge the Wendat Nation (Huron) who occupied these lands prior to the middle of the 17th century. While opening the doors to our city and celebrating Culture Days, we are dedicated to honouring Indigenous history and culture and recognize the enduring presence of Indigenous peoples on this land.
