Completed in 1931, St. Peter's is believed to be the only art deco-style church in Canada. Originally named St. Clare of Assisi, it was threatened with demolition in the late 1990s. The Maronite Catholic community purchased it in 2000 and renamed it. The exterior features buff-coloured brick with intricate jagged patterns. The bell tower reaches 30 metres (100 feet).
