The Brockville Arts Centre was originally constructed in 1858, making it one of the oldest buildings on King Street. It first served as a town hall, market place, and fire engine house! In 1880 the building was transformed into Brockville's first true theatre, known as the Opera House. Today the Arts Centre underwent a restoration in 2009 and is recognized as one of Canada's finest medium-sized historic theatres. It hosts live performances, dance recitals and has recently become Brockville's Movie Theater!
