Celebrate the York Regional Forest at this innovative building that creates more energy than it uses. Functioning as the hub for York Region Forestry’s educational programming, this centre was built using local and recycled materials. In 2018, the building became the first LEED Platinum-certified building in Canada. During Doors Open, visit the displays and take a tour of the facility.

Discover the Nature Centre at Bruce's Mill Conservation Park, while learning about nature, visiting the exploration table, taking a self-guided tour of the property and participating in a scavenger hunt activity. Holy Theotokos is a Greek Orthodox convent that not only follows the traditional order but also manufactures pure beeswax candles. During Doors Open, visitors can tour the chapel and the candle shop to see how this property has changed and adapted over time. Don’t forget to stop by for lunch at the Greek souvlaki and pastry tent.

The Lemonville School was constructed in 1923 as S.S. #9 and expanded in 1959. The school closed in 1969, reopening as the Lemonville Community Centre in 1972. Today the building serves as a multi-purpose space while maintaining its community roots. Explore the building’s past and chat with volunteers about the building’s fascinating history. As Stouffville’s only brewery, Muddy York is a gathering place for both locals and visitors. Founded in 2013, Muddy York has called Stouffville home since 2024, where it brews award-winning beer onsite. Muddy York also offers a unique space for events and community experiences. During Doors Open, guests are invited to enjoy a tour and learn more about the facility.

Built in 1860, this farm — with over 30 hectares (78 acres) — was donated in 2021 to Pickering College by Charles Boyd, who left behind a legacy as an educator. Come and experience the many learning opportunities at the farm, including a self-guided tour of the gardens, greenhouses, forests and the outdoor kitchens.

Adults and children alike can visit the Richmond Hill Live Steamers to experience miniature railway demonstrations. This outdoor model railway, run by hobbyists and engineers, features several gauges of trains running on steam, gasoline and electric power, based on real engines dating back to 1803. Rides are limited to one per person. Last admission at 2 p.m.
