Celebrate the York Regional Forest at this innovative building that creates more energy than it uses. Functioning as the hub for York Region Forestry’s educational programming, this centre was built using local and recycled materials. In 2018, the building became the first LEED Platinum-certified building in Canada. During Doors Open, visit the displays and take a tour of the facility.

Discover the Nature Centre at Bruce's Mill Conservation Park, while learning about nature, visiting the exploration table, taking a self-guided tour of the property and participating in a scavenger hunt activity. Forever Thyme provides a safe, peaceful home for retired horses. Visit the horses and tour the farm. Our horses' favourite snacks and refreshments are available by donation. Colour at the craft table or participate in the Lead Change Initiative program (waiver required, children 8+, closed-toe shoes required) at 11 am, 12:15 pm, 1:30 pm and 3 pm.

Opened in 2024, Harmony Hall is located within the former Vandorf Community Hall constructed in 1921 and is now a modern live-music and cultural venue. View historic photographs and displays, enjoy live acoustic performances by local musicians and perform your own song while enjoying light refreshments.

Holy Theotokos is a Greek Orthodox convent that not only follows the traditional order but also manufactures pure beeswax candles. During Doors Open, visitors can tour the chapel and the candle shop to see how this property has changed and adapted over time. Don’t forget to stop by for lunch at the Greek souvlaki and pastry tent.

As Stouffville’s only brewery, Muddy York is a gathering place for both locals and visitors. Founded in 2013, Muddy York has called Stouffville home since 2024, where it brews award-winning beer onsite. Muddy York also offers a unique space for events and community experiences. During Doors Open, guests are invited to enjoy a tour and learn more about the facility.

Built in 1860, this farm — with over 30 hectares (78 acres) — was donated in 2021 to Pickering College by Charles Boyd, who left behind a legacy as an educator. Come and experience the many learning opportunities at the farm, including a self-guided tour of the gardens, greenhouses, forests and the outdoor kitchens.

Adults and children alike can visit the Richmond Hill Live Steamers to experience miniature railway demonstrations. This outdoor model railway, run by hobbyists and engineers, features several gauges of trains running on steam, gasoline and electric power, based on real engines dating back to 1803. Rides are limited to one per person. Last admission at 2 p.m.

With over 120 hectares (300 acres), this property includes a beautiful lake, natural forest, walking trails and buildings over 100 years old. During Doors Open, visitors will enjoy walking tours, slideshows and displays depicting the site’s history. Bring your children to enjoy field games and campfire activities.

Built in 1881, Wesley United Church contains beautiful stained-glass windows and other unique features - including planks from the original log church. Jeremy Marchese, Wesley's Minister of Music will be performing on the church's newly acquired ALLEN MDS 40-S organ. Visitors can take tours of the building and the adjacent cemetery, and view scrimshaw carved into ivory piano keys.

Visit the Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum to engage with a special featured exhibition, Beyond Words: Dictionaries and Indigenous Languages, on loan from the Canadian Language Museum. Visitors will engage with interactive language activities and learn how Indigenous languages and dictionaries have shifted from colonial tools to community resources that help share elders’ knowledge with youth.

Willowgrove inspires kids and families to get outdoors, learn, and grow together. Established in 1968, it has grown into a vibrant day camp and education centre. Visitors can try bouldering in the century barn, explore the hayloft, enjoy wagon rides, visit the animals, roast marshmallows at a campfire, browse the pop-up market and stop by the camp information booth.
