Constructed as the focal point of the community, the Bothwell Town Hall is a hidden gem that includes an opera hall, known as the Jim Kish Theatre. The building continues to serve the community through civic functions, hosting concerts, performances and movie nights. Built in 1883, Glenlochie Lodge was the home of the McVean family. The grand staircase, stained glass and ornate woodwork reflect the homes Scottish Heritage. It offers a rare glimpse into Victorian life and Dresden’s history. Visitors are invited to step inside and experience the story of this remarkable home through free guided tours and stories of the McVean family.   

Take a guided tour through the museum gallery, historical buildings and cemeteries. At the top of each hour, visitors are invited to examine three rarely seen artifacts and uncover the stories behind them with a museum guide. Visitors can also cast a vote to help select an artifact from storage for museum staff to prepare for a future exhibit.

Located in the village’s most iconic building, the Thamesville Old Town Hall Museum is a charming repository of the history of Thamesville. Located on the second floor, the Shirley Bain Room is named in honour of the late Thamesville historian who helped established the museum in the 1990s.
