This stone church was originally built for the Methodist Episcopal congregation. Prominent local stonemasons, brothers William and Hugh Saul, had been contracted to complete the project. Construction began in 1870 and was completed by early 1871. The building’s structure remains 11 by 18 metres (36 by 60 feet), while the tower is four by 12 metres (13 by 41 feet).
