In 1906, retired railroader Alex Paton (d. 1947) began a school of telegraphy on the second floor of what is now the Academy Theatre. During Doors Open, members of the Maple Leaf Chapter of the Morse Telegraph Club will recreate the spirit of this school with demonstrations in the Academy's second-floor Guild Room. Stop by and send a souvenir telegram!
