Built in 1857, the Kirkpatrick Blacksmith Shop is an example of post-and-beam construction. Named for Sid Kirkpatrick, Limehouse’s last blacksmith (who took an interest in blacksmithing and eventually purchased this shop in the early 1920s), the shop features its set-back, white-washed walls, stone floors, wooden rafters, support beams and the original forge with an interior portion of the chimney intact.
