An 1897 fire destroyed Gravenhurst’s town hall and firehall at the corner of First and Brock streets; they were rebuilt that year. In 1969, a municipal building opened at the corners of First and Harvie streets for police/fire services and town staff. Although the town staff later moved to a new building, fire and police services have continued here.
