Local businessman George Hancock (1845-1919) owned this home circa 1869 and ran a harness business here. The brick on the original building was supposedly reused from a Newcastle fire. More recently, the home has been enjoyed by several generations of the Stapleton family. The current owners moved in and have completely renovated the interior to create this uniquely beautiful home.
