Old Don Jail

The Old Don Jail served as a prison for 113 years, closing in 1977. After years of stagnation, the property was purchased by Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital as part of its new campus. Historic Bell Telephone Building and Garden Courtyard

Built for the Bell Telephone Company of Canada in 1926, this attractive commercial building has undergone heritage restoration, retaining original exterior and interior features, furniture and Bell artifacts. In 2001, the building was converted into private offices (now containing 32 companies). In 2022, an exterior event space was completed, featuring a cobblestone courtyard surrounded by gardens and lush green space.

Heliconian Hall

Heliconian Hall, home to the Heliconian Club, is one of the oldest associations of its kind in Canada. Founded in 1909, it gives women artists, writers, musicians, dancers and actors opportunities to work together creatively. The hall itself dates to 1876 when Yorkville was still a village. Check out the simple exterior, a Victorian rose window and carved ceiling rafters.
