Aardvark Learning Academy is a tutoring centre for adults and children learning English, Math, French and Japanese. Our mission is to empower students to accelerate their dreams. While here, try your hand at Shodo (Japanese calligraphy), learn how to hold/move a brush and complete a masterpiece. Participants can come up with a word that they want to write or copy a prepared word.

Officially opened on September 30, 2014, The Advanced Research Complex is a research building at the University of Ottawa, dedicated to multidisciplinary work in Earth sciences, physics and engineering. Guests of Doors Open 2026 will be able to take part in hands-on demos for all ages, conversations with local researchers and laboratory tours. 

Founded in 1857, Albert College is Canada’s oldest independent co-ed day and boarding school. Previously All Saints Anglican Church, the new “Allsaints” is housed in this beloved heritage property and building of national historic significance in the heart of Ottawa’s Sandy Hill neighbourhood. With a commitment to celebrating the building's past and preserving its architectural heritage, Allsaints is looking forward to welcome guests into the space for Doors Open Ottawa 2026.

Am Shalom is a Modern Reform Jewish Congregation. The public is welcome to join us at Doors Open for our weekly Shabbat services from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. followed by a community potluck luncheon (outdoors in our sukkah weather permitting) for our Sukkot holiday (Thanksgiving).

This beautiful church with recent renovations in Uptown Waterloo has an abundance of richly carved oak woodwork by Globe Furniture of Waterloo, including paneling, pews, choir stalls, a chancel screen, a pulpit and lectern, and a reredos carving of the Last Supper. Welcome to Annandale National Historic Site, one of Canada’s finest Victorian homes. Built in 1880 by Edwin Delevan Tillson, it showcases the esthetic movement style. Inside, visitors can explore hand-painted ceilings, intricate woodwork, stained-glass and richly decorated rooms, offering a glimpse into the Tillson family and the history of Tillsonburg.

Founded in London, Ontario in 1908, architects Tillmann Ruth Robinson Inc. expanded to Toronto in 2005. The Toronto studio is located in a late-19th-century former carriage works. Today, the studio supports work on institutional and community-focused projects across Ontario. Come and explore a working architecture studio where history and contemporary design connect. Art and Culture in the Hall, located in City Hall, is an exhibit program that celebrates local artistic and creative talent. The current exhibits on display were created by Friends of Second Marsh and visual art students at Maxwell Heights Secondary School. Come visit the centre of municipal infrastructure and visual art, all in one!

Visitors will see how a piece of artwork is framed from start to finish. Explore digital design using advanced software, along with behind‑the‑scenes processes like computerized mat cutting, frame building, glass cutting, canvas stretching and picture assembly.

The Battle of Chippawa, fought on July 5, 1814, was the opening engagement of the Niagara campaign of 1814 — the longest and bloodiest military operation of the War of 1812. Retrace the events of the Battle of Chippawa in a self-guided walking tour with storyboards of this preserved battlefield covering 121-hectates (300-acres). Niagara River Parkway at Edgworth Road.

Among the church’s features are beautiful stained-glass windows, statues, iconography and a Casavant organ. Blowes Cards & Gifts occupies the historical Victorian Brandenberger Block, once home to the town’s first Festival Theatre box office and later a Loblaws grocery store. Original timber floors, decorative tin ceilings and a restored façade remain, and visitors can view the newly renovated upstairs — The Blowes Inn space — which showcases additional period details from its 19th-century origins.

Visit Borlak Law, operating from the circa 1895 home of William Todd, village carriage maker. Admire the architecture and some of the original stained-glass windows while learning about what the business offers today.
