Welcome to Annandale National Historic Site, one of Canada’s finest Victorian homes. Built in 1880 by Edwin Delevan Tillson, it showcases the esthetic movement style. Inside, visitors can explore hand-painted ceilings, intricate woodwork, stained-glass and richly decorated rooms, offering a glimpse into the Tillson family and the history of Tillsonburg.

The Army, Navy and Air Force Duke of Edinburgh Unit 201 is a local service club that has many activities for members and is open for everyone to enjoy. They have been an active organization since 1840 — and in this building since 1932. Come in during Doors Open Belleville and check out the club and its many activities.

Dating back to 1796, this home once belonged to the Gage family. While on site enjoy the Dunington Grubb landscape and the 13.8 hectares (34 acres) of meadows and forest that make up the property. Explore the contrast between the Tudor Gothic Revival Battlefield Monument and the artwork Eagles Among Us, symbols of peace and reconciliation.

The Brantford Airport was established in 1939 as a Second World War flight training base. Currently, it is used for flight training, general aviation and aircraft maintenance. During Doors Open, visit the Flight Centre where club members will provide a guided tour of the airport and its history, and explain what is happening there today.

This former industrial site is now a 3,962 square-metre (13,000-square-foot) modernized museum featuring artifacts and displays honouring Canadian men and women who served, are serving and who did not return, focusing on Brantford, Brant County and Six Nations, from 1812 to Afghanistan. See also special displays commemorating Canadians in Hong Kong and Walls of Honour for area residents lost in war.

This site is home to North America's largest collection of operational historical military vehicles and the museum of the Ontario Regiment (Royal Canadian Armoured Corps). The museum is located on the grounds of an original Second World War airfield. Rides in their M548 “Battle Bus” and M113 armoured personnel carriers will be available but at an additional cost.

The Clergue Blockhouse stands as a reminder of two important periods in Sault Ste. Marie's history. The blockhouse base contains exhibits and information on the fur trade (the base was originally the powder magazine). The top floor exhibit showcases the early industrialization of Sault Ste. Marie and the man behind it — Francis H. Clergue. Clergue lived on the top floor.

The Diefenbunker is Canada’s most significant surviving Cold War artifact. It is an impressive four-storey underground facility that operated as the country’s central communications headquarters during the Cold War, ready at any moment in case of a nuclear attack. Now a museum, the Diefenbunker offers a one-of-a-kind experiential learning environment, coupled with award-winning programs, events and exhibitions. Registration is required.

Located at Exhibition Place near Scadding Cabin, Fort Rouillé is marked with plaques, a cairn, an obelisk and the original fort’s outline. Built in 1749-50, the fort was abandoned in 1759. Come and explore signs of an Indigenous presence, an old French fort, a War of 1812 battleground and Toronto’s oldest house — all in one spot. Bilingual volunteers available.

At Fort Willow Conservation Area nature and history come together. During the War of 1812, this fort was a supply depot that marked the half-way point between Kempenfelt Bay and the Nottawasaga River along the Nine Mile Portage. The site features scenic trails and open spaces where visitors can explore its historical importance. 

This site is an example of 1930s art deco, built primarily of materials from Quebec and France. Highlights include the Salon de l’hon. George W. Vari (formerly the Birch Bark room), a replica of the Vimy Memorial, bronze decorations by André Bizette-Lindet, wall engravings and murals. No strollers, backpacks, metal objects, food (including chewing gum) or drinks. Photography restricted. Registration Required.

The George R. Robinson Bandshell was built in 1947 in memory of Lieutenant George R. Robinson. Robinson, born 1840, was Bandmaster of the 13th Battalion Royal Canadian Militia from 1869 until his death, and is credited with reforming Canadian music. His Battalion Band was known for traveling across North America. Today, the bandshell serves as a stage for summer concerts.

Battery Lodge, now home to the Hamilton Military Museum, began as a guardhouse during the 1837 Rebellion. Today it showcases military history through exhibits including Lawyers and Land Pirates and Blood Ties to a Gentle Landscape. Explore the Discovery Gallery, experience life as a soldier and try the accordions or drums celebrating Hamilton: city of music!

The Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment Museum is located on the main floor of the Belleville Armoury. The museum preserves the history of the militia, specifically the Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment, through the collection and preservation of military artifacts and documents of historical significance to the Regiment and its antecedent units.

Join this fascinating walking tour of the famous top-secret spy camp. Camp X was a Second World War training facility for agents operating behind enemy lines. It was also North America’s largest communication centre. Join one of two guided tours or stay and engage with guest speakers about the site's history. Uneven terrain. The Lake Street Armoury is a prominent landmark reflecting Canada’s early 20th-century militia movement. Long central to local military life, its fortress-like design symbolizes strength and permanence. It continues to operate as the home of the 10th St. Catharines Field Battery Artillery and the Lincoln & Welland Regiment, maintaining its historic role as a place of training and service. Hourly Tours - Pre-Registration Required

Coronation Branch 286 Rexdale has stood here since 1937 to serve Canadian veterans and their families. The Legion Experience Museum was established to tell the intersecting stories of Canadians and the military through art and artifacts. Knowledgeable volunteers will answer your questions. Search records to find family members, try one of the child-friendly activities or put on a military kit.

Ottawa’s first high school has occupied this prime downtown location alongside the Rideau Canal since 1874. The Gothic revival building has been extended and renovated several times. It has many distinct architectural features — including an impressive 660-seat auditorium that maintains much of its original character, and an attic that students used as a shooting range during the Second World War.

This art deco-inspired bandshell was a gift from R.S. McLaughlin, founder of General Motors Canada, to the City of Oshawa. It was constructed in 1942 to give the Oshawa Civic Band a place to perform and practice. This location also features the Cenotaph, a historical war memorial honouring residents who died in the First World War, the Second World War and the Korean War.

Step inside The Memorial Tower — an iconic structure and symbol of the sacrifices made by local men and women in the service of their country and the world. Artwork depicts action from six military conflicts dating back to the War of 1812. Representatives from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25 will be onsite.

The imposing Old City Hall was Toronto’s third city hall. The lobby features one of the city's few secular stained-glass windows. Original gargoyles were replaced in 2002 with replicas. And, in 1925, a cenotaph was erected outside to honour Torontonians who died in the First World War (later updated for veterans of the Second World War and the Korean War).

The Airport Armoury supports 'B' squadron training for members of the Ontario Regiment (RCAC), providing space to conduct vehicle and equipment maintenance, as well as related courses. Speak with members about their roles and experiences within the Canadian Armed Forces.

The Polish Combatants' Association Branch 20, a non-profit organization founded in 1948, is dedicated to honouring the memory of Polish veterans and promoting Polish history, culture and language. The three-storey building includes an underground parking lot, offices, a dining room, banquet hall and military museum. The building has a rich history and holds great meaning for the Polish-Canadian community.

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 153 in Tillsonburg is a welcoming community hub. It provides a space to connect, celebrate and support one another while honouring Canada’s veterans. Through events, ceremonies and social gatherings, Branch 153 preserves local and national history, fosters camaraderie and ensures that all are welcomed with respect and inclusivity.

Come and explore the new home of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25 — complete with a museum where you can learn about the Sault’s miliary service over the years.
