Discover how a historical 1895 building has been transformed into one of downtown Brockville's most popular gathering places. During Doors Open, enjoy a guided tour of the brewery's production space, learn about the craft brewing process and some cool historic facts about brewing in Brockville! 

The regiment is celebrating its 170th birthday. Many of the events of its history are the same ones that affected the City of London. We will have interpreters who will explain the displays and tell the stories of the regiment's history. Outside the Jeep Troop, members of the Regiment and the Cavalry Troop will have interactive displays. Enjoy musical performance!

Housed in a 1940s canteen, this is the last surviving building from London Airport's WWII British Commonwealth Air Training Plan base. The London Aviation Museum commemorates Canadian and Commonwealth airmen trained here. A scavenger hunt and a hands-on activity highlighting key pieces will be available for kids. Visitors can gently handle a WWII practice bomb and guess its weight. Enjoy musical performance!

A first-of-its-kind 9-square-metre (100-square-foot) mural of vinyl album covers and grooves that showcase historical Toronto scenes. Artist David Heard blends heritage, music and art into a vibrant installation. On view on the café level of Aurora Town Square, it offers an uplifting, visually dynamic interpretation of the city’s layered history.

Aardvark Learning Academy is a tutoring centre for adults and children learning English, Math, French and Japanese. Our mission is to empower students to accelerate their dreams. While here, try your hand at Shodo (Japanese calligraphy), learn how to hold/move a brush and complete a masterpiece. Participants can come up with a word that they want to write or copy a prepared word.

The Academy Theatre, which hosts musical and theatrical acts throughout the year as Lindsay's premiere performance space, opened its doors in 1893. Visit this building to experience a behind-the-scenes look at this local landmark. Theatre staff will be running ghost tours throughout the day to introduce visitors to the building's haunted past. Register in advance for one of their tours.

Adelaide Hunter was born in this farmhouse and lived here until she married John Hoodless (1881). Hunter Hoodless was known for establishing several organizations – including the Hamilton YMCA, the second branch of the Hamilton Victorian Order of Nurses, and the world's first Women's Institute. Today, the homestead is owned by the Federation of Women's Institutes and operates as a museum.

Officially opened on September 30, 2014, The Advanced Research Complex is a research building at the University of Ottawa, dedicated to multidisciplinary work in Earth sciences, physics and engineering. Guests of Doors Open 2026 will be able to take part in hands-on demos for all ages, conversations with local researchers and laboratory tours. 

Founded in 1857, Albert College is Canada’s oldest independent co-ed day and boarding school. Albert College provides an enriched curriculum for approximately 300 students, pre-kindergarten to Grade 12. A "home away from home" to students from Canada and 15 other nations, the school embraces curricular and co-curricular activities through Albert’s Five A’s: Academics, Arts, Athletics, Active Citizenship and Adventure.

All Ours Studios has converted a stand-alone warehouse and retrofitted eight shipping containers to host private art-production spaces and shared community space. Each container features a full glass façade that is insulated, drywalled and powered to be warm in the winter, and cool in the summer. The site also has a communal tool-use workshop, gardens, courtyards and test-out mural walls.

Am Shalom is a Modern Reform Jewish Congregation. The public is welcome to join us at Doors Open for our weekly Shabbat services from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. followed by a community potluck luncheon (outdoors in our sukkah weather permitting) for our Sukkot holiday (Thanksgiving).

Ameliasburgh Heritage Village has grown from one building (a Wesleyan Methodist Church built in 1868) into a complex of museum buildings and displays. Come and visit a log cabin, display barns, an operational blacksmith shop, a carpenter’s shop, a sap shanty, dairy and beekeeping buildings, a stone building housing the Goldie Corliss flywheel and the de Vries Natural Heritage Collection.

Established in the 19th century when agriculture formed the foundation of daily life and economy on the island, the Amherst Island Agricultural Society plays an important role in preserving and celebrating rural traditions. Through agricultural events, exhibitions and community involvement, the Society helps support the future of farming on the island. Visit the Saturday Market & Social at their new pavilion on the island.

The Ancaster Old Township Hall, built by William H. Thuresson in 1870, was a centre of local politics and exhibitions, including Edison’s “magic phonograph” in 1878. Today, it remains a fine example of stone architecture with original features. Retained by the City of Hamilton, visitors during Doors Open Hamilton can explore and learn about ongoing restoration efforts.

This beautiful church with recent renovations in Uptown Waterloo has an abundance of richly carved oak woodwork by Globe Furniture of Waterloo, including paneling, pews, choir stalls, a chancel screen, a pulpit and lectern, and a reredos carving of the Last Supper. Other highlights include murals and windows. Enjoy a talk: "Seagram’s: Family, Faith, and the Shaping of Waterloo."

Welcome to Annandale National Historic Site, one of Canada’s finest Victorian homes. Built in 1880 by Edwin Delevan Tillson, it showcases the esthetic movement style. Inside, visitors can explore hand-painted ceilings, intricate woodwork, stained-glass and richly decorated rooms, offering a glimpse into the Tillson family and the history of Tillsonburg.

Canada’s second-oldest rowing club is also the birthplace of the Toronto Argonauts football team. Located along the waterfront trail’s western shores, the club offers programs to fit different needs, abilities and interests. Take a tour of the facility, explore the Trophy Room, enjoy a coffee in the Henley Room, and see some of the best views of Lake Ontario.

Art and Culture in the Hall, located in City Hall, is an exhibit program that celebrates local artistic and creative talent. The current exhibits on display were created by Friends of Second Marsh and visual art students at Maxwell Heights Secondary School. Come visit the centre of municipal infrastructure and visual art, all in one!

The Art Gallery of Algoma's permanent collection includes nearly 6,000 works, with a strong focus on Canadian art. Highlights include pieces by the Group of Seven, Indigenous art, modernist work and pieces from other significant artistic movements. The Gallery Shop features products created by local artists, as well as items inspired by the Group of Seven and Indigenous art traditions.

The Auchmar estate, built in the 1850's for the Buchanan family in the Gothic Revival style, has been host to numerous owners and their stories. Over time, it transitioned through the Trigg and Young families, and later served as a convalescent home for the Royal Canadian Air Force and a religious retreat for the Hungarian Sisters of Social Service.

Built in 1976, the Aultsville Theatre is a 680-seat non-profit professional theatre that hosts a variety of events annually. Come and experience theatre life on the other side of the curtain. Take a backstage tour and see where the performers prepare themselves. Get a behind-the-scenes look at the theatrical lighting, rigging and operations that bring productions and performances to life.

Discover creative techniques at Shining Hill Visual Arts Studio, presented by the Aurora Cultural Centre. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., join Andrea Chan and Leila Ahmadi to explore sustainable art techniques like fabric sculpting, liquid polymer and textile reuse. From 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Helen Walter, Eva Folks and Sara Tag explore acrylic painting materials, 3D texture processes and teaching approaches. 

Explore exhibitions throughout Aurora Town Square on a self-guided tour with docent support. Presented by the Aurora Cultural Centre, featured exhibitions include Arnie Lipsey: Past. Tense., Remix, and Tracey-Mae Chambers’ powerful textile installation addressing Canada’s opioid crisis. Visitors can also enjoy fibre-based outdoor art installations throughout the premises as part of Common Threads: Aurora Public Art Festival.
