This year, Doors Open Mississauga shines a spotlight on the vibrant community of Malton. Join us for this one-day free event that explores Malton’s aviation history, heritage and contemporary buildings.
Malton in Mississauga was first settled in approximately 1820 and was founded by Richard Halliday from Malton in Yorkshire, England.
The intersection of Derry Road and Airport Road was the village centre known as Four Corners. In the 1840s, land was cleared northwest of the Four Corners and became the village of Malton.
Today, Malton is a vibrant multicultural community with heritage sites, natural green space, places of worship, manufacturing and unique businesses. Explore this hidden gem in Mississauga.
