Established by Metropolitan Toronto in 1962 following the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Aurora Readiness Centre was located beneath a circa 1875 farmhouse, now a private home. The centre was to be used to coordinate emergency services in the event of a nuclear attack on Toronto. During Doors Open, only the operations room is open for viewing.
