Bedford United Church

Bedford United was built as a Methodist church in 1906-07. The sanctuary features curved wooden pews, leather-covered doors and stained-glass windows. In 1920, its most famous pastor, J.O.L. Spracklin, a leading area prohibitionist, famously shot and killed a bar owner and was later acquitted. The church, in historical Sandwich, is part of the Canada’s Historic Places inventory.
