Kerr House was constructed in 1853 and gradually expanded throughout the late 19th century. Now clad in brick, the original house was a stacked plank construction – a rare method used in mid-19th century Peterborough. The house was acquired by Trent University in 1971 and is the home of the School for the Study of Canada.
